Jose sez Sure it does. My car is 25, I pay about 60€ every 3 months. Includes road assistance, replacement car if (heaven forbid!) the car has to be towed to the shop, and broken glasses. What would that be in us dollars Jose? Michiel sez That's cheap! When mine was my daily driver (no classic car insurance), I paid about € 500 yearly. My E46 is at € 550 if I'm not mistakinby rkj - Car Talk
Hi Guys (and Kelly. Since I've been spoiling myself with the new car and running with the big boys in the left lane- I've been missing the 325is/5 more than ever. I decided to try the antique car insurance route for it. After a few days answering questions, sending a few documents, I have my 1988 325 back, ready for action! (205.00 a year) They accepted me! QuoteJose Pinto The flexibility of the hose will make no difference if it's metric or not, just make sure you use proper clamps. An e30 should be now going through the 3rd or 4th set of rubber tubes and o-rings. While in there, you may want to check. There are some rubber o-rings at the fuel pressure regulator and injectors, make sure there are no traces of gas coming from there. It'by rkj - Technical Forum

QuoteBob in Everett It could be a couple different cars with that windshield. My dad had a pickup that had a windshield that would tilt out at the bottom. It was what passed for air conditioning in those days. It is a car, a revolutionary one at the time. I don't think it sold well either. That flip out windshield was the coolest thing, I had it on my powerwagon too. Remember, 1936.by rkj - Car Talk

QuoteBob in Everett I think I bought some 5/16 that worked. It would translate to about 8mm. That's what I use, just make sure it's fuel injection hose, it's a little stiffer. I have a spray bottle with soap and water to help ease it on.by rkj - Technical Forum

QuoteMilo Thanks RJK! IIRC it spins reverse. My car motors through the snow nicely, the rear wheels seem to keep churning not favoring one wheel over the other so I thought I had LSD. Are Open Diffs "smart" as well? Are lsd's smart? no, but when the clutches are toast it does revert back to an open rear, and they make more noise than usual. QuoteArcheo-peteriX Congrats on your new wheels. You deserve this Thanks Peter, I forget when hurricane Irene punched out our cars but it seems like I've been looking for a long time! QuoteMichiel 318iS Congrats! Looks like you'll get the opportunity to get to know the vehicle in cleaning it up a bit, I'm sure it is mechanically sound (you bought it after all). Price seems pretty fair to me. What engine is it? Thanks Michiel Absolutely, I can't wait to start cleaning it up, and now I have a cabin filter (I've always wanted one of those) to attendby rkj - Car Talk

QuoteBob in Everett But don't you miss the E-30 just a little? The E-39 is a great car. We have an E-38 and it is an awsome car. I could fling it around the corners just as fast as my E-30 but tires and suspension parts do wear out and they are much more expensive for the E-38. I still enjoy the E-30 and do not hesitate to enjoy it as much as I can. Congratulations on the new ride. Yoby rkj - Car Talk
QuoteMilo My Diff tab says S2.93, which means bog-standard '87 325 spec right? How do I tell if it's LSD or Open? Matt That's easy Matt, lift both rear wheels off the ground. Spin one side, if the other goes the same way you have an lsd, if it goes the other way or stands still it's open. Good luckby rkj - Technical Forum

After going through the car for hours, and driving it for hours (story to come) I handed over 3,300.00 bucks and now I'm the proud new owner of a shiny E39 5speed sports saloon. Wow, what a ride. QuoteBob in Everett My son had a 2001 M5. It had the manual tranny. Still only got 21 mpg on the freeway, 14 in town. The 540 will do better. My wifes 740iL gets about 25-26 on freeway and 16 around town. If you have not driven a 740 you might try one. They will all have automatics and perform very well. The automatic boxes however will eventually have issues with reverse and need reby rkj - Car Talk
QuoteBob in Everett The E-39 is an awsome car. My son had one for a while and I drove it a couple of times. The M-5 version is a bit more expensive to maintain than the 540 but a rocket ship for sure. What year was your sons car Bob?
