I'm so addicted to double clutching that I really need to concentrate to not do it. As Rick said, it came in real handy when I noticed the slave clutch had gone before a long trip. I use it to do one by one downshifts as well as skipping a gear. It wears out the clutch actuating system a bit quicker, but I'd rather keep doing it - even just for the sound of it - as it saves the trans

I guess when your in 3rd gear and you have more play in the stick than in other gears, it could be the linkage bushings. If there's no noticable difference, suspect the synchro.

If two of those collide head on, your body will act as the crumple zone.

Reversed the flow? Through the radiator you mean? Or through the engine block as well? (This would surprise me)

And what is your definition of a turn? How long should it be? How sharp should it be? A straight is a turn with an infinite radius.

Not enough bokeh for me. haha. f1.2 - 2.0 is more like it.
Sounds expensive! I'd like to have a f2.8 all over the range, but it is out of my budget at the moment... Anyway, first I have to improve my shooting before investing in better stuff...

I'd like to have traffic reports when listening to a CD, so I'd want the antenna up as long as the unit is on.
Anyway, I don't need it, the previous owner of my car replaced the fixed chromed antenna with a fixed and shorter black one, which I really like, reception hasn't really changed.

Whether your asking price is correct, depends on the market you operate on. I just notice that prices for parts or complete vehicles in other countries can be a lot higher than where I live. As an example: I bought my well looked after 1990 318iS for €2200 three years ago, which already was a high price compared to others, but I was willing to pay it after I had a chat with the previous (first)

Is that a Recaro? Looks like a regular E30 sports seat to me. Those weren't true Recaro's (but they do look like them).
If I lived abroad, I'd part out a car much sooner than I'd do now, looking at the asking price. Whole vehicles as well. Last week a Swede offered to buy my car, didn't really discuss on how much as I said no from the start, but I felt he was going

For those who have 16 minutes to spare, can bear a bit of German, 80's synth music and the mighty sound of E30 M3's, enjoy this!

Fabric sports seats, definatly, even though the leg support is a bit too short for me. Had three cars, all with sports seats, one in leather, two in fabric. Gimme the fabric, as it doesn't slide. Too bad the seats aren't that strong (mechanism breaking).

Took a short course in photography lately (got a Canon Eos 400D myself with basic 18-55 and 55-200 lenses). The teacher was a Canon guy himself (more professional model camera he had, can't remember exact type). His remark on Canon's was that the standard colour settings usually aren't super, but can be solved by adjusting manually.
Another make would then be know for its colour

Kids are nice to watch. And your kid is left handed, so she might be a creative person!
Actually, I liked the video. Simple subject, nicely elaborated. Lettering wasn't my style but I figure it would match with the wedding videos (or what some ppl expect for them).
At work I use Windows MovieMaker 2 for editing simple videos. Easy to use, too bad the camera is getting of age (zoom

Oops, I was assuming you were testing an E30 unit. I was wondering about the arm, but then I remembered earlier models had different tanks, so maybe different fuel level meters....

You've been testing the empty light trigger... I think...
Last summer I was testing my fuel pump and without wiring diagram, I started checking the wires. If I remember well, there's a signal for the fuel level and one for the empty light.

And all it took was a bit of Googling.
Which shear bolt are you talking about? I once tried it on the ones holding the steering column, without success. Couldn't move them one bit with the screwdriver. Then drilled a hole in them, hammered in a torx bit, but the ratchet on it but the bit snapped. Then I grinded the entire head of the bolt down to get them out.

I was very tempted to buy a E60 525d Touring last week. Ex-lease company car, 2006, 150.000 km on it, titanium grey, leather, iDrive,... Looked well cared after, for only € 15.000.
Luckily, I don't have a place to store my E30, which I'd like to keep until it's an old timer (and keep it longer too, of course). In the meantime, I could tidy it up (it is pretty clean, few small d

Or lift the wheel, spin it and feel if there's a vibration in your spring, that will tell if the bearing is broken as well.

Sorry...until we see documented proof of this mythical warping; it does not exist
That'll be more difficult, all the info I can get my hands on has this 'confidential' line in the bottom...
Maybe the term warping isn't 100 % correct, let me try to explain tomorrow, I'm a bit too feverish right now.

iX lug is the same, though the wheel offset is different.
I'd try to find stock 4-lug 15" wheels, looks the best and requires the least work on the car.
