Japanese cars hardly ever break, that's why parts are expensive. And you can't run your engine properly without a MAP sensor... It all comes down to economics.

The Italians are a sensation too, a bit more from the heart, but they don't last as good as the Germans. Rationalism wins over romance in a long run, in this case.

A bike is good for your health and that of mother earth. You forgot to mention an other detail: the wind! I remember the wind when going around the bay on a boat and a walk on the bridge. The bridge's vibrations and swaying must give a sensation too at times. Have good times!

Looks like you like the German stuff. My parents used to own a S123 240TD (loved that one!) and a W201 190D.

A couple of weeks ago a Swedish guy at work wanted to buy my car, but I declined the offer. Last week I heard he was willing to pay € 8000 for it!!! I payed a fourth of that four years ago! That's an investment...
Today, my girlfriend and I went out all day on hired Vespas, had a lot of fun and a great day. I gave it as a birthday present for my gf's 30th birthday.
Tonight whe

How nicely it's been done, it is a shame they cut up an original M3 body for that. They could have gone for an ordinary E30 body and go from there.

Congratz with the job! And go for the trailer advice, that way you'll end up with practicality AND with a comfortable car which is unstoppable, whatever weather you encounter. You want to end up stuck in snow and ice on a winter day? You'll regret it as long as you live!
In case you sell, sell it to me, I'll drop in a manual transmission and have the ever missed iX feeling ba

At that price a 2nd hand motor is easily put in... If body and interior are that good, it is a good project car as stated.

Too bad about the crash. Without consequences luckily. I hadn't seen that one yet before posting my previous comment (not that it would change it).

Fast or not, it must be great to do this. Thanks for sharing, I enjoyed the videos. I like the way Martin calmly asks to repeat a corner.

As already said: it's hard to beat an all mechanic AWD! Used to own an iX as Peter's, though it was a touring and a manual. Great car and still miss it!

And yet your gas is still cheaper than ours, though it's risen more.
At the moment regular price for 95 RON is € 1.33 per litre (about $ 5 per gallon) round here. Where I go it is € 1.199 ($4.5/g), on road with hard competition between 5 stations within 1.5 km. In Holland it goes up to € 1.6 ($6/g) and scandinavia will probably be even worse.

At the end of the old forum, someone (I think it was Ove) mentionned a link where older episodes of Top Gear and such could be downloaded. Anyone still has this link?
Or... How could I make the BBC website believe I'm surfing to their site from within the UK, even though I am not? I need an english redirecting site or such, so I can watch the programmes on BBC's iPlayer.

Well, it took me a long time to get onto facebook as well. It's no shame not to have one, just remember to set up an account when the forum gets lost again. That is if facebook will still exist by then. You never know...

I'm glad you found us again, Jose. We lost a lot of people when the old site died.
Therefore we have set up a facebook account as well. Search for "bmw e30 network" on facebook and join if you want to. If the forum goes down for any reason, we can trace each other there.

So the old trustworthy passed technical inspection again. Not in one shot, as they broke my car at the first attempt.
Technical inspection is done by an independant company, approved by the state. They have a damper test rig (you drive one axle onto it, the rig makes the wheels vibrate at different frequencies and amplitudes and checks the response of the wheel). When my rear axle was being

And it's got different blinker fluid! I still think the 320 is the best guess.

Just one small bit advice. While you have the connectors unplugged and dangling loose, make absolutely sure not to let the wind blow the door closed as that will squash the plastic connector plugs making it more difficult to properly fit things back together later. Um, don't ask...
Looks like most of the people working on those connectors come accross the closing door issue

The 320 has the same type headlights as the one in your pictures and the doors are the same too.
Looks like a 320 is a better guess.

One of the things I remember the best of driving my iX, it is the ABS. Though that one is differently programmed (high grip and low grip) than a RWD E30 (though the high grip part might be the same as a RWD), it must have been amoungst the best of its time. Very effective!

Here in Europe several countries are encouraging buying a new car, as it would save in CO2 output. Have they ever thought how much CO2 is blasted in the air when a car is being created? From mining and recycling to assembly? You'd drop dead if you knew, it's way better to keep driving your older car!

Global warming is caused by several factors and the human factor is one of them. We just need to try to reduce our output. Or kill half of the world's population.

Your 'racing starts' (high rpm and dumping the clutch) put a lot of wear and stress on the clutch, actually, you should avoid it as much as possible if you want a long clutch life. Your dual mass flywheel won't like it either. Actually, to make a good start, you shouldn't have the cluch slipping at all, it should be your tyres. Let them spin for max 1 second. If the clutch
