QuoteFerdinand That's a smart choice for a commuter car. Small, cheap, inexpensive, and it's a Toyota so you know it'll be reliable. I don't understand the appeal of those expensive, heavy, overly-complicated, electric/gasoline hybrid cars when something simple like this car gets every bit as good fuel mileage. Very true. A smaller simpler car is allways cheaper to run tby Jose Pinto - Car Talk

Many innocent (people who up to that point had led fiscally responsible lives) got caught in the vortex and found themselves unemployed and in the streets when they were forclosed on. QuoteMichiel 318iS I got a 2003 E46 320d (d for devil's fuel), bought it in May 2010 with 121.000 km and currently has 187.000 km. Drives great! Had no issues except for a broken exhaust (known issue). Mine has the M-pack but would not recommend that as it costs a bit more (lower fuel economy, expensive tyres). They are full of ideas for the future. Is the hybrid/electric the way to go? QuoteBob in Everett I rented an Altima with the CVT on a business trip. It worked well and had a setting that simulated shifting gears, but it was a new car. If you were an happy Honda driver, and you want to go automatic, ever considered the Insight? The toyota Prius is way more expensive, but the electric mode could be good on the road conditions you mentioned above. If you don't want to do mechanical repairs yourself, a newish car still with warranty from the factory, is the way to go. Anything older come with reliability issues aby Jose Pinto - Car Talk
QuoteBob in Everett Yes, the fleet of old cars I have are a hobby. Just keeping them running keeps me in a list of things that need done. Customs suck. I live near the Sanish border now, and i go there to shop for gaz and fill gasoline, its a lot cheaper due to taxes. There are old buildings at the border, where the custom authorities used to be, I remember before UE open market there were huge queues to cross the border, and they often confiscated items or cars, just to keep there for a while and auction them latter. I never had noticed the cabrios had a brake light there, is kind of a stupid position, isn't it? Just like roof mounted antenas, the seals will eventually start to leak inside. In Portugal the e-30 had no third brake light when new, just after the mid 90's. As for the heat, there are now LED lights, mounted on regular bulb sockets. It may do the trick, as LED do not produce heat.by Jose Pinto - Technical Forum
