QuoteBob in Everett A book I read several years ago, "The People's Pottage" concluded that the revolution was complete in 1932 with the election of FDR. All the stuff that has happened since seems to confirm it. The occupy crowd seems to want a 360 degree revolution. It does not seem to want to reverse the growth of government. 99% of the 'occupy crowd' have no clueby Archeo-peteriX - Community Forum

QuoteBob in Everett A little online investigation indicates a huge connection with the establishment via George Soros sponsored groups providing the "leadership" of these ersatz demonstrations. Some of the personalities involved also seem to be connected to Obama's posse. It could be a sort of fifth column in a re-election campaign. Hard to tell. The problem is that without a clearly defined goal; nothing will ever be achieved Unfortunately, most of the western world is beyond recovery and those who are in power are not going to give up anything without a fight. You made an excellent choice. This watch has the ETA 2824-2 caliber movement. It is a good solid movement that should provide you with excellent time keeping and also, with regular servicing, be in good shape to pass on to your children The Sapphire crystal means you will not likely ever need to worry about scratches and it has enough water resistance that getting it wet in the rain or whiby Archeo-peteriX - Community Forum

Thanks for that review Cab. So, your cost of ownership has been relatively low so far, as far as repairs and consumables. That's good news. Since I can't really justify buying a new car with full warranty; a VW is out If I can find the right one; I really think the Protege5 will suit me fine. Now we're getting somewhere I'm not very big on Tissot but that one looks pretty good. The real star of the two is the Hamilton. That is a fine looking watch and one that befits the occasion it will be worn at. It will also be an excellent watch going forward for dress; business and whenever you feel like something special The thickness is pretty average for current automaticby Archeo-peteriX - Community Forum
Thanks for the input Dave. I test drove the Protege5 yesterday. It definitely feels like a good handling car and not too unlike the E30 for balance. The 2.0 litre engine seems to have good power but would be best with a manual transmission. I found the car very comfortable with excellent visibility. The driver seat fits like a glove; actually better than the stock seats in the E30. The carby Archeo-peteriX - Community Forum
QuoteBob in Everett I am surprised the insurance would be that much difference. The power to weight ratio of the car matters and the market value. On such old cars the insurance company is only looking at the market value of the car. If a repair costs more than that, they just pay you for the car. How has the Mazda been for you as far as reliability? An older(2002) Protege hatchback has caught my eye and it falls much better into my limited budget than the E46 cars of the same vintage. I was also inquiring about auto insurance and the BMW would cost me almost $500 more per year for the same coverage! I kind of like this one... It's a 1998 with less than 150,000 km( ~90k miles) or this one... It's a 2002 320i(2.2litre) with only 125,000km(~78Kmiles) and it's under $8K. The E46s have even better fuel economy than the E36 which was a big improvement over the E30. More and more; I am realizing that another BMW is in my future. For sure; I can't afford a new one; heck, I can't even afford anew Hyundai So, my search will involve 1995 and newer E36 models and 2000 to 2003 E46 models. Quotenomis3613 Even if the CVT works well, I'd avoid it on a car I was planning to keep for 25 years. At the risk of sounding like a luddite, these fancy gearboxes have all kinds of gizmos which can fail (look up "Alfa Selespeed") and they can cause such problems that people decide the best fix is to replace it with a manual (very common for E46 SMGs).
