Looking up at the rusty bolts coming off the manifold it looks like a PITA to get off. Any advise besides Liquid Wrench, heat, profanity and patience?by Milo - Technical Forum
Quotealanrw Had bite the bullet on that one a few months ago. My car wouldn't pass smog, diagnosis-bad cat converter. Bought a new one from BAV. Perfect fit, easy bolt up (of course, the car was on a lift which made all the difference in the world). alan Shorthand doesn't work for rookies...Google says BAV is bavauto.com, right? Item: BMW1407 $379+shipping? Looks promising.by Milo - Technical Forum
Quotealanrw Was is secured before you did the timing belt? alan No idea...I just undid the two top bolts and it popped right out. I "fixed" it by shimming the two bumpers up with some old plastic bushings from my can-o-junk and running a bolt through it instead of the plastic scrivets.. It still doesn't rest on the bumpers but the radiator can't swing into the fan now.by Milo - Technical Forum
Timing belt done, putting everything back together I bolt the top of the radiator in and find that it doesn't reach the lower bumpers and is just swinging in the breeze waiting to kiss the fan. The car has had some front end drama in it's life but this looks too consistant to be tweaked sheetmetal...or I could be wrong. I'm going to try to secure it somehow, taller bumpby Milo - Technical Forum

What's the best full system replacement for a daily driver with no performance aspirations?by Milo - Technical Forum
Thanks everybody, New timing belt is on and the ratchet is switched to tighten. Switching to the tech section for a bit.by Milo - Community Forum
Oops, I edited out the year in a rewrite. It's an '87, 122 horsepower of fury. I've got the belt/water pump/tensioner kit in a box, patiently waiting. Ten years ago I had a T-3 cafe' bike, not many pics of it as it died a premature death a Northern California ditch.by Milo - Community Forum
Hey all, longtallsally told me to come here for all my E30 questions...well here and E30tech but my membership has been pending over there for weeks now. They don't like me I guess. My name is Matt, from Everett, WA (like Bob) and I'm a motorcycle guy. I've been riding/building Moto Guzzis for ~20 years and have enough tools to do some real damage.
