Just wanted to report that the OBC swap that Dave G and I did is complete. The iX is now back to it's OEM clock and Dave's is upgraded to the full OBC with code relay. I still have a box of broken 13 button OBC's to play with and enough parts to make one more good looking functional unit with the LED back light upgrade, if I should want to Now I only need to fix the SI batteby Archeo-peteriX - Community Forum
QuoteDave_G Quoteakstraw By the way, the convertible battery is under the hood. Not sure why BMW put them in the trunk for other models. Usually it's done for F/R weight distribution -- I can only assume that BMW did it in the E30 for the same reason. I forgot that the iC has the battery in the front. The iC is about 150-250 pounds heavier than other models, so I guess the weight distrby Archeo-peteriX - Technical Forum

Quoteakstraw It's time for a new battery in my 87 325ic. The current one was the house brand from AutoZone, and lasted about 5.5 years. I think I am hard on batteries since this is not my primary car, and it sits for weeks at a time during the winter. I don't have power nearby, or I would run a battery tender of some type on it. I am thinking about putting in an Optima brand gel bby Archeo-peteriX - Technical Forum
When you buy the new switch just ask the parts guy how it installs. Once you see this, you will know how to take it out. It's still a hassle so just rip it out with a pair of pliers; it's already brokenby Archeo-peteriX - Technical Forum
Basically the old forum URL was hijacked by some Russian looking for a free home. The old site owner Gustavo Melo was contacted but never responded to pleas for help. So, a few of us gathered on the old emergency forum at VOY forums and made some plans for the future. Dave G took the bull by the horns; bought us a professionally hosted site where spamming and hijacking will be taken care of iby Archeo-peteriX - Community Forum

QuoteCab Treadway Thanks for the compliments, guys. I guess I just try and live my life by the golden rule "Do unto others" and all that. I know I'm not a perfect example by any means, but I try. QuoteFerdinand Well said. The world surely would be a better place if everyone were as level-headed as you are. I think that part of why Cab is so well grounded is because he is what I would consider a real christian. QuoteCab Treadway... Although, I actually do see a little double-standardness in the juxtaposition of the views you have expressed over the years and your support of Obama. He might be a great leader (we have yet to see, but I have my hopes), but he never has seemed to show much in the way of undying support for the Constitution.... QuoteBob in Everett One item on my Santa's list was a new heater core. It came, believe it or not. The one in my car only leaks when it is cold soaked overnight. When the temp gets down to around 40 or 45, it seeps coolant into the car and takes a while to evaporate it onto the windshield. So, a new one seems the only cure. We have an opportunity to witness the same BS as our American neighbours very soon. Since Harper has seen fit to give the Canadian public the big >< by appointing 18 new senators; most of whom know little of governance; it is only a matter of days before we find that he is reinstated the 'not withstanding clause'. QuoteFerdinand We haven't had any good political debates in this new version of the BENN forum yet.
