I'm probably going to attempt to reglue it myself, since I want to sell the car and I don't want to spend more than necessary. The local shops don't do a good job anyway I don't get why the liner comes undone after such a short time (14 years), especially on a top that's almost always been inside (stored during summer, garage in winter when I don't drive the carby jaffar - Community Forum
Hello, old friends. checking in after a long time. After eight happy years with the Z4, the end of the world came up with a good opportunity for me to buy a used (100k km) X3 so I went for it. It's a huge, heavy mule, engine 2.0 diesel, xDrive, plenty of fancy useless options like external M Packet, very good for being damaged during offroading The pleasure to drive is close to none (by jaffar - Community Forum
I'm using an app called Harry's Lap Timer Grand Prix Edition. Using the internal iphone camera, GPS, accelerometer. Connected to a ELM327 OBDII wi-fi dongle for car data. Except for the GPS which is just 1Hz, the info is quite decent. On Android phones, you can connect an external GPS unit that runs at 10Hz and is much more accurate. Can also be connected to a GoPro and control viby jaffar - Community Forum
M3 drifting: Three laps with lap timer and a bunch of sensors: Of course, I was tempted to kill the DSC, but I must admit I was afraid. I did not know the tracks, the partners level of insanity etc. Perhaps another time.by jaffar - Community Forum
Hi all Last weekend I finally decided to try this. No special preparations, the car is 100% stock, 2006 Z4 2.5si with Michelin Pilot Sport 3 tires. I did not even know what pressure to set so I used the one written on the door pillar - 2.1 front, 2.4 rear. Day 1. - 4.1 km circuit - 1km straight line - quite bumpy - 180km/h at the end of the straight line - very hard on the brakes (couby jaffar - Community Forum

Correction about towing, from the user manual: Automatic transmission Selector lever in position N. Do not exceed a towing speed of 45 mph/ 70 km/h or a towing distance of 90 miles/ 150 km. Otherwise, the automatic transmission could be damaged. So... why the hell won't it go downhill or allow me to push it ?by jaffar - Car Talk
Hello everyone Last night I did something that I haven't done in years. In local language it's called approximately "stupid man's breakdown" - I drove until I had no more fuel Since I was very close to a gas station, I did not stress, thinking I would be able to push the car for 300 meters with no problems, especially since the road was a bit downhill. I smiled rememby jaffar - Car Talk
We have to take the technical inspection and emissions test every 2 years. But you can pass that in almost ANY inspection unit with no more than 10 EUR bribe. Some even do it for free. The network is so well developed, they call the authorities first, to make sure there's no surprise inspection at that time, then they measure the emissions from another car, or just put the sensors in the airby jaffar - Car Talk
It gets even worse in second-hand countries like romania. People buy all sorts of old diesel cars from western EU, then remove particle filters and catalytic converters ("to gain more power" or simply because they don't feel like spending $$$ for replacing parts). The amount of smoke and poison chemicals they release in the air is insane, but nobody seems to care about it. Ridinby jaffar - Car Talk
Hi all About one year ago, my car started to act up. First the airbag light came on in the instrument cluster. The error on the airbag control module was "Undervoltage". I did some easy checks on the battery and its terminals, tried a new battery - nothing. Went to several diagnostics, they all pointed to a faulty airbag control module, but none of them was 100% sure. Since the costby jaffar - Car Talk
I bought Pilot Sport 3 for my Z4 (because SuperSports don't come in R17...). Quite happy with them for the first 3 months (before summer), but they either don't like high temperatures (we have 37-38 Celsius constantly lately...), or the local roads disintegrate at these temperatures, because they are slippy as hell, my DSC light is on almost all the time. And I'm always nervous whby jaffar - Car Talk
QuoteJose Pinto Very nice! How can that be, the licence plates sequence? Can you choose the licence plate numbers? I'm in awe! Yep, for an extra tax, one can choose the numbers (and letters), if they are available. I'm not sure who the owner is, but he seems to love BMWsby jaffar - Car Talk
Do the lights go off when the engine stalls ? I had such an issue once, caused by a loose wire that was hitting the chassis causing a short. Every time it would stop, I would open the hood and check everything to find nothing. Until one time it happened at night and I found the moving cable by the sparks it was making.by jaffar - Technical Forum

Ok, machine or operator error, that's what I thought. But ALL machines in the world do the same thing. This guy went even further, he went to a dealer who sells such machines. He asked him to perform this test on a brand new machine, perfectly calibrated and all. Guess what - the result was the same. Is it possible that all machines and/or all operators are stupid ?by jaffar - Car Talk
I am talking about this type of machine. Looks quite dynamic:by jaffar - Car Talk
Just to make sure there's no mistake - by "wheel" I mean rim + tire. The tire did not move relative to the rim, he just rotates the whole rim+tire assembly on the balancing machine. The problem is that a perfectly balanced wheel (rim+tire) becomes unbalanced if installed in the machine at another angle. So, when do we know that the wheel is balanced ?by jaffar - Car Talk
