Personally, I don't think the spoiler detracts. Coupled with the ground effects front end, makes for a handsome car IMHO. alanby alanrw - Community Forum
Are you talking about a trunk spoiler? Most likely it bolts onto the trunk. If not, it would use studs and nylon inserts like front and rear rondel badge or many of the other stuff on the car that snaps into nylon receivers. Unlikely it is just stuck on using pressure sensitive stickim. alanby alanrw - Community Forum
I don't think I have ever seen a radiator cap fail in the "too much pressue" mode, usually they fail because they can't hold pressure. alanby alanrw - Technical Forum

Wow, never heard of that setup. What years was that on? Was it for 4 or 6 cylinder models? alanby alanrw - Technical Forum
Quotealanrw And the threads on the body part are in good shape? We haven't heard of many people having this problem which leads me to think perhaps the screw fasteners on yours are failing? Helicoils? Was this part common to all E30's 84-9x? alanby alanrw - Technical Forum

For what it is worth, I just went thru all this hand wringing on my wife's PT Cruiser. I was losing coolant and was terrified it was a head gasket or cracked head. Turned out it was the $3.50 radiator cap. A buddy lent me a pressure tester. Engine tested fine, cap wouldn't hold a weak fart in a windstorm (how's that for a visual). New cap, no coolant leaks. I had to replace mine a couple of years ago. Of course, it blows out midweek and the boss nixes the idea of waiting till the weekend so I can do it but that why she is the boss. How do the new tankless ones perform? Are they all they are hyped up to be? alanby alanrw - Community Forum
Nope, not at all. We all know about buying parts at the dealership. The part I got from Pelican was just fine, bolted right up, car passed smog with flying colors. Probably a good idea to get a new O2 sensor as well. I believe the sensor is downstream of the cat on an 84 and my understanding the cat goes bad, it can take out the sensor? Quoterkj Quotealanrw Just checked. I got it from Pelican for $404. Add in tax and shipping and it went up to like $460. alan All things considered though, it's not bad for a pricey piece of exhaust. I wonder what a factory piece would set you back? Around $1800. alanby alanrw - Technical Forum

Had bite the bullet on that one a few months ago. My car wouldn't pass smog, diagnosis-bad cat converter. Bought a new one from BAV. Perfect fit, easy bolt up (of course, the car was on a lift which made all the difference in the world). alanby alanrw - Technical Forum
.....and interestingly, there hasn't been a peep about it in the news the last few days. I have come to the conclusion that the sole purpose of the media is to spin us up for no apparent reason. alanby alanrw - Community Forum

There was a former security guy from El-Al airlines on tv the other night. His take was that TSA procedures were ridiculous. El-Al has always relied on interviewing passengers with highly trained individuals. Asking questions, getting a "feel" for the person being queried and if it didn't sound right, furthur searching/investigation. alanby alanrw - Community Forum
Yeah, but truthfully, would you really want to be a TSA employee at this time? Those poor people are gonna have tough shifts checking all those passengers. No doubt, the proceedings will be videotaped as claims of improper pat downs occur. alanby alanrw - Community Forum
