Ferd, That was fun to watch and to think it was only about 4 hours from start to finish! I don't know how good the rolling job will be though; that thing was doing 120kmh in your drivewayby Archeo-peteriX - Community Forum

QuoteMhenry I've got access to a rack, I just need the proper distance between the 2 front strut towers. The rest of the frame is straight (As far as I can see) It's probably good to note that the strut tower on the iX is not in the same position as on the regular E30. It has a different angle. So while the distance between the towers is important; so is the front to rear positioniby Archeo-peteriX - Technical Forum

A little storm on the North East coast shouldn't have stopped the E30s from getting around Seriously though, there is a bit of an echo in here lately. QuoteMhenry I'm looking for a detailed frame diagram so I can straighten my 88 ix front right strut tower back to spec. Does anybody know where to find this? Tia Mike Other than RealOEM parts pics; I don't know where you would find that info outside of a body shopby Archeo-peteriX - Technical Forum
You never know...if the ball joint is worn; simply changing to a different tire could bring on the shakes. Mine did that when I replaced the old worn out summer tires. Since the balancing was part of the price of the tires; I took it back and they checked it out; nothing wrong with the tires. I then took it to my mechanic and he immediately knew what was wrong. Two new ball joints later and no mby Archeo-peteriX - Community Forum
Sounds like the sway bar bushings may be in need of replacement. The car has to be sitting on the ground to check them otherwise the tension on them when lifted makes them tight.by Archeo-peteriX - Community Forum

Quoterkj QuoteDave_G Since this has come up again, there's always the new Subaru BRZ/Scion FR-S/Toyota 86 (that's all one car). It's kind of boy-racerish, and at $25K-$30K not real cheap, but cheaper than a new BMW and looks interesting. I really thought both these cars would change everything. It's early in their production so maybe things will happen... Cheers, Rick Iby Archeo-peteriX - Car Talk
Along with Bob's suggestions; also check the sway bar rubber bushes. Do this with the car on the ground. Just grab the sway bar near the bushes and yank on it to see if there is any play. When these are worn, they can cause the situation you have described.by Archeo-peteriX - Technical Forum
QuoteKelly Hi All, In responce to Peter's question about the trans fluid, I think it was changed a year and a half ago. I'll ask the mechs about Alan's item as well. Now I'm off to work again. For good or bad. I think that in 2 weeks that the worst will be over. :-) Kelly I hope you mean the carzy work load and not Beemieby Archeo-peteriX - Technical Forum
QuoteKelly Hello long lost Friends, I hope this note finds you well. I have been basically under water at work for the last 6 months. I have barely had time to eat or much of anything really. Good news is that I managed to drop Beemie at the mechs for an oil change 2 weeks ago. this has not occured since Feb. I know - bad Kelly. So here is the odd transmission issue. I am starting to forget what year our various cars are from. You are correct; the dual sensors are from 87/88 and later; I believe. Signor Pinto is right on the money; sounds like a poor signal/ground...the simplest explanation is usually the most accurateby Archeo-peteriX - Technical Forum
There are two separate sensors in the tank. One is for fuel level and the other is for low fuel. If your tank truly was 1/4 to 1/2 full then the low fuel sensor may be faulty...or the wiring to it.by Archeo-peteriX - Technical Forum

Bob, There are several structural differences between the cabrios and the sedans. I'm guessing the windshield is one of them. Since there is no roof structure to aid in body rigidity; it has to be made up in the windshield and trunk areas. Thus the different part numbers. I don't think I would risk using one with the wrong s/n.by Archeo-peteriX - Technical Forum
