QuoteEarendil But to answer your question, in a simple world you would just measure when your object moves, and returns to the same spot, and call that a revolution. It would be like watching an imbalanced top spinning. One could just listen to the frequency of the sound, instead of sensing the actual "movement". I wish I could put my hands on a Chevy Volt... As I write, my car is without clutch and I may not be able to sort this out on the roadside. Wish it had an electric motor. No clutch, no oil changes, no sparks, no gas, no filters or belts... :undecided:by Jose Pinto - Community Forum
Quotejaffar i am renting a car from Valencia and doing a road trip Of course! Make sure your rental has air conditioned, the interior of Spain is very hot, even at night! When oil price goes up, gas follows, the reverse not so much... Now there are more frugal cars than, say 10 or 15 years ago. Check out the BMW1 series! It is still a very interesting car to drive. Interesting. I found myself considering what sense my job makes, and truly enjoy when i can fix or build something by myself. At last, someone tells me I'm not (completely) crazy! Oh, did i mention I drive a 21 year old car, that I often have to fix at the road side in order to get to my destination ? OK, maybe I am crazy.by Jose Pinto - Community Forum
Quoteec437 One more thing: to get to Madrid from Lisbon it is worth it to fly. Fares can be found for less than €30/person. Low cost can be really cheap, and for the one hour flight you don't miss the food and newspaper... The only "catch" is you have to book in advance when they have more places available. terminal Aby Jose Pinto - Community Forum
diagnostic aid for spark plugs This may help.by Jose Pinto - Technical Forum
Quoterkj Maybe a compression test would be a good idea, might answer a few questions before you waste money throwing parts at your car. Rick That's a sound advice. If your car was running fine and now it's not, then probably something broke or went bad. Aged spark plugs don't go bad overnight. Before spending any money, pull the plugs one by one, look at them. On the old site there were some articles on how to test the relay. while you are at it, you may want to replace aged fuel tubes, that may be leaking or about to brake, and test the fuel pressure regulator. It should be visible connected to the fuel rail, in front of the engine. Once my car ran like real bad, and it was the sole cause. There was an article on how to test it as well, besidesby Jose Pinto - Technical Forum

I live in Viana do Castelo (north) and work in Porto. If you want to detour, i can buy you a drink or a cup of coffee! Sadly but true, there is a lot of bad driving going on here. There are no "good" energies, just some have less impact on environment than others. Nuclear energy is very good, except for the nuclear waste produced. Alternatives, are fossil fuel power stations, polluting the air and burning non-renewable fuel. Big dams destroy valleys and complete ecosystems, and they produce CO2, by decomposing of dead stuff under the still watter mass. Windby Jose Pinto - Community Forum
