It's been quite chilly here too, and the xmas season has brought out the worst in some people. I stopped for gas last night and used a pump behind a 5 year old 325i driven by a crazy woman. The gas station has multiple parallel islands with 3 pumps each. She was parked at the pump in front of mine. There was white truck across the driving lane from her. I finished pumping and went indoors to

QuoteArcheo-peteriX Quotealanrw Well, then there's only one thing you can do in a situation like this. Where's the rum and apple cider? Someone grab a pot and put it on the stove. alanI'm definitely up for that...I'll put the stove in the iX and be right over ... I wish Sometimes, if I must drive in bad weather, I rent a car and insure it fully leaving perfect Beemie at

Quotedaniel ok, those are the rubber mounts i was imagining in my head. unfortunately i havent had an M20 car with a proper airbox for about 4 years now, so I can't remember everything about the mounts and what not. I am useless in this thread. I think if one mount still holds the box nicely you don't need to worry about the other mount. you could also use zip-ties to hold stuff in

Quotedaniel i think i know what you are talking about, but pictures would help. See the notes in the pics below for the broken mountings. Upper pic shows side of air housing with round disk where shear off occurred. Lower pic shows broken rubber mount is still attached to car. Pics are reused from old "Ahhh Overheaded" thread. Question was: DO I try to glue the broken mount

Speaking of lost souls - from the VOY forum. I think that everyone from VOY who lists an e-mail address has appeared here except for "Peter_89_325ix". Is "Peter_89_325ix" the same as you Archie "Archeo-PeteriX"? Although not on VOY, "Ed Prasad" appears on www.unofficialbmw.com 's forum. If anyone posts there, perhaps you could tell him that BEN

Hi All, Back to the business of the forum. So I removed the whole air filter housing again to try and replace the sheared off rubber mount, but removing the mounts from the housing proved problematic. I will describe the new mount that I just ordered from the dealer. It is a rubber disk that is about 2.5 cm in diameter and about 1.5cm thick. A treaded screw protrudes from each flat, round

Quotedaniel I watched Wall-E last night on blu-ray. What an incredible movie. I never thought so much feeling could be given to lifeless robots. has anyone else seen it? Love it! I think Beemie's personality frankly is not that different from Wall-E. Kinda blocky, slightly ubiquitous, scared of wind storms and falling objects, not to hard to fix, kinda just goes along about its business

QuoteArcheo-peteriX One of our forum members( I want to say igor) gathered many of the old archived articles and got permission from the owners to repost them here so we should be able to get a lot of the good stuff back up and running. Hi A, I googled "Igor E30" and found the some info below. He might be found at the Yahoo e30 Group with the user name "bmw_86_325". If s

Hi, Should someone visit the emerg forum and then e-mail the posters/users who have not yet appeared here? I think some have accessible e-mail addresses. I could do this task if someone likes the idea. Let me know. Thanks, Kelly

QuoteArcheo-peteriX Dave can apply to google to have the site put on their searxh engine or we can wait for a couple of months until the web crawlers find us. Cool! I'm so glad the 1989iX is the only car that you'll ever need! The steampunk movement is so interesting and beautiful. The need to humanize the machine through craft. I bet you could make a lovely machine with bells
