sounds good, and go for it, but realize that it's not trivial job. My suggestion would be to get all ( most ) parts at once (i.e accumulate parts over time if you can't buy them in one shot) so that you don't have to assemble / dismantle some things twice... In order to do a swap "as one unit" ( as you mentioned ) you will have to take his rear subframe and trailingby igor325 - Technical Forum
LinkedIn is more profession(al) oriented in my opinion. For me it's good for staying in touch with people from previous jobs. Also nowadays recruiters and managers looking to fill a position are turning more and more to LinkedIn to find candidates. It's not noisy chatter like Facebook, at least not for me....However, I don't have 'social media craze' and seldom use any oby igor325 - Community Forum
"...except the gas pedal goes to the floor like a sack of potatoes.." ) that exact thing happened to me merging from one freeway to another (280 to 92 for those in nay area). Unfortunately that little fastener is the only one in that size on the whole car so you can't borrow it from any other place...thankfully I had duct tape and some wire in the car and made it to the parts sby igor325 - Technical Forum
Quotenomis3613 Thanks Igor. Can you tell me who does it in the US? That'll help me find an Aussie equivalent. I am not sure that anyone knows exact answer to your question but my gut tells me that if you change your synthetic oil it every 2 years or about 7000 miles in your case you should be fine. However, instead of listening to my ( or anyone's guesses) I would suggest that you take an oil sample every few months and send it to a lab for testing. That will give you an realistic and accurate answeby igor325 - Technical Forum
uhh, it's been a while since I messed with window switches. I remember taking one apart, so it's possible to get to 'innards' of the switch ( I think from the bottom - you have to pry it out with thin flat screwdriver or similar). It's not complicated or hard, although I remember thinking that due to time spend on taking one apart and cleaning it, I would of been better oby igor325 - Technical Forum
Quoterkj I don't understand Igor's math but two are a lot of work but as you've seen with Kate it does get easier.... oh, I was just saying (and giving Cab heads-up) that having two kids is not double the "work" as having one, but rater its square of number of kids, so 2^2=4 or 4 times the work as having one kid. Failed attempt at being funny I guess. My kids are abby igor325 - Community Forum
Congratulations! Kids are blessing and joy So you know - having two kids is not twice the work as having one (doubling) but rather equation is work = kids^2by igor325 - Community Forum
QuoteDave_G (*)By "I", of course, I mean "the guys at the garage down the road." I do all the work on my E30 myself, but when it comes to replacing rear wheel bearings, that doesn't count as "work" -- more like "self-inflicted pain." Actually, it's not too bad IF you have the right tools (without them it's a pin in the neck). Unfortunatelby igor325 - Technical Forum
I replace mine in pairs. You can replace just the one that is making noise and still be fine though...by igor325 - Technical Forum
QuoteFerdinand We won! We are the 2009 Targa Newfoundland GT-Class winners. The only team of the entire event to escape with zero penalty points. Stories, photos, in-car videos, etc. still to come. We're still decompressing. Awards banquet tonight, then hit the road to catch the ferry back to the mainland and long drive home... Congratulations - that's awesome!by igor325 - Community Forum
yes, you can buy it as a used part. Some people, especially in racing applications, purposely remove it....by igor325 - Technical Forum
rebuilding your Bilsteins is not necessarily a DIY job. Factory will rebuild them, but I am not sure of the cost (rebuild vs. buying new). Call Bilstein and ask about the price. As Ferdinand mentioned, springs and dampers should have "matching" rates...by igor325 - Technical Forum
if you end up needing to turn the crank remove sparkplugs first - it makes job of turning the crank MUCH easier..by igor325 - Technical Forum
After you've done this once description will not be vague, however for the first time doing it I agree it is vague steering rack - loosen the bolts and move steering rack about one inch (it will help provide space to lover the pan). Better completely unbolt the rack or remove it if you can (hey it's a good time to replace those tie-rod ends ) Torx bolts that you need to removeby igor325 - Technical Forum
it should be e30 m3 I wouldn't get E46. If you don't mind $$$ go for E90, otherwise e36. my $0.02by igor325 - Community Forum
Just go with OE sparkplug wires - they work just fine; for non-racing applications I really don't think you will see any noticeable differences. Aren't NGK spark plugs cheaper then Bosch? (I might be put of date on that one...). Numbers and markings on the sparkplugs can be confusing so see What do numbers on the spark plug meanby igor325 - Technical Forum
It's been a long time since i did this so my memory might be a bit fuzzy...disassemble small parts by the wheel - just take your time, drive the little pin out (IIRC), and make note how parts go together. cable itself is pressed in - it's probably a bit rusted, and there is some grime so it's stuck, but just remember that it's pressed in and you can pull it out from behindby igor325 - Technical Forum
In your case, my suggestion is to go with rebuild ones. You could also rebuild them yourself, but it's a very messy job, you might need a special tool or two, and if you haven't done it before it will take you a while.by igor325 - Technical Forum

Hi all, anybody knows what crankshaft from E30 diesel is worth? Any demand for that type of a mod (yes, yes I know this is not R3V... ). My e30 is DD and I don't plan to do this mod, but might have a line on few e30 diesel cranks.... Regards, Igorby igor325 - Technical Forum
Quotesdp ... I figured, it it's just sitting on the floor of the garage, what the hell... even if we screw it up and don't even finish it, it's no harm. My son could learn something. I just hate investing money and then not get anywhere with it. if you don't have (special) tools and know-how I wouldn't do it. Although you can buy replacement parts for it, It would probably be cheaper to buy good used one.by igor325 - Technical Forum
did troubles with firefox started after one of the version upgrades? Sometimes, and for whatever reason, installing/upgrading to a new version of ff on top of the old one could cause problems you described. Uninstall firefox (your profile/preferences will be saved on comp), download newest version of firefox and do clean install. Hopefully this will fix the problem.
