QuoteDave_G QuoterkjI should write up the fuel pressure test that I do in the shop here, its a most complete way of doing it. That's something I would read. I have no idea even what I would use to measure the pressure. QuoteI don't think the fpr is your starting problem but, anything can happen. Usually a faulty fpr will show itself on hard acceleration. QuoteDave_G Quoterkj Do you have a meter? If so start checking a few things; juice at the coil when the switch is turned on and things like that. Over the years these connections, like the key switch, can become dirty and lose voltage making for hard starting. Could also be a weak coil, I would do a fuel pressure check too. My bad start in damp conditions turned out to be spark plug wires. I doby rkj - Technical Forum
QuoteDave_G Quoterkj Does your condition show itself more in damp conditions?, cold conditions don't usually have any affect on starting, other than if the oil is too thick. Dave, you use synthetic, right? Yup, it's cold and dry is a bit of a problem, but it's worst when it's cold and damp. I am using 10W/40 synthetic. QuoteArcheo-peteriX QuoteDave_G OK, yeah, I know the obvious answer: you go fast. But I'm asking in particular when you're starting up the engine. I still have an issue with hard starting in cold and wet weather. But if I hold the accelerator to the floor as I turn the key, it starts up pretty quickly. So what exactly is happening, mechanically or electrically, when I hold the pedalby rkj - Technical Forum
QuoteArcheo-peteriX When you buy the new switch just ask the parts guy how it installs. Once you see this, you will know how to take it out. It's still a hassle so just rip it out with a pair of pliers; it's already broken Thats what I did!by rkj - Technical Forum
QuoteArcheo-peteriX QuoteBob in Everett One item on my Santa's list was a new heater core. It came, believe it or not. The one in my car only leaks when it is cold soaked overnight. When the temp gets down to around 40 or 45, it seeps coolant into the car and takes a while to evaporate it onto the windshield. So, a new one seems the only cure. Anyone else have similar experience? Juby rkj - Technical Forum

QuoteMichiel 318iS And found them still way too expensive... Currently working with the new Ford Focus RS (great car: lots of power, good handling and very easy to drive, maybe a bit too easy for the enthousiast), I was looking for a successor for my car, looking for a bit of performance.
