For the E30 I got a manual (I think it is a Bentley but I'm not 100% sure) on a loan. The owner once owned an E30 but had to sell as he could no longer keep it. He does not want to get rid of the manual though, so I can lend it eternally but it will never become mine. Funny situation, makes me affraid of using it.by Michiel 318iS - Community Forum
There's so much difference between the different models, you can't list it all. It's a bit like an English car, most share the same problems but you have to get to know and understand your own car and even then you'll keep messing it up. English cars always have flaws and always have the steering the other way round. Lots of similarities :-)by Michiel 318iS - Community Forum
That colour is called RAL 1015, mandatory colour for German taxi's. Just consider one thing: this is the last car you buy! Those things are bullet proof, if cared for a bit. Nice sounding 5 cylinder engine. No rocket, more like a barge, slow but unstoppable. Great looks. T models are very spacious but try to find one that hasn't been used for moving stuff and throw stuff in that wby Michiel 318iS - Car Talk
Maybe out of your budget, but what about the new 1.0 L 3 cyl turbo in the new Focus. That engine is as strong as the old atmospheric 1.6 and has pretty good fuel economy. And it brings driving pleasure, a lot of torque at low rpm and still enough oumph to go on to the redline. At the moment it looks like diesel will get as expensive or even more expensive than petrol in the EU (in some countby Michiel 318iS - Car Talk
Depends largely on your driving style. In my E46 I'm 0.1 liter/100 km off the NEDC cycle values and I could do better if I'd accelerated a bit less hard.by Michiel 318iS - Car Talk
Hmmm, good windshield replacing lobby in Portugal! Over here it should not be in direct sight and not touch edges in two locations.by Michiel 318iS - Technical Forum

Things in life don't always turn out the way you want it to. I guess the crisis in the south hasn't helped either. Do you have kids? The bright side is: this is a chance to change this. Things you never could do, regretted, never were able to do. Enjoy life, whatever comes along. Who knows where you'll end up next?by Michiel 318iS - Community Forum
At least you still drive a BX, I hardly ever see one around here. CX's are cool too, but very rare nowadays.by Michiel 318iS - Car Talk
So much? Running on gas? Do you do a lot of driving? That's a lot you mentioned! In 26 months I've poured 7415€ in my trustworthy diesel, little over 100.000 km. That's about 285€/month, in fuel. In total, the car has cost me around 21.000€ now (buying price, insurances, taxes, maintenance, fuel,...). Hope I can keep it another 3 years at this pace.by Michiel 318iS - Car Talk
English googling German googling I tried some of the above. If you can afford getting your broken screen out to compare it with the sedan one (and risking having to wait until you can get a convertible one), I'd take it out and go from there.by Michiel 318iS - Technical Forum
Don't shoot me if it turns out different, but I checked a couple of English/US and German sites and they all told the only difference is that bit of glue holding the mirror. Only that BMW uses black glue and the one you can buy anywhere will be opaque or white. There's a great deal of marketing in price setting. The owner was willing to pay more for a convertible over a sedan, heby Michiel 318iS - Technical Forum
I don't believe the windshield is adding structural strength in the E30, due to the way it is installed (as in any car of that age). The convertible windshield has the rear view mirror attachment glued on, hence the different part numbers.by Michiel 318iS - Technical Forum
Hello hello! Welcome back. I remember how jealous I was at the Z4 and the M3. I hope life's been good to you. See you around!by Michiel 318iS - Community Forum
I can tell you first hand an E46 is fun to drive, and pretty reliable. Bought mine 2 years and 2 months ago, 121.000 km on the clock. Last week I've put 221.000 on it and still going strong. Hasn't let me down, except for the cat (broken weld) that needed replacement 4 months after I bought it. Round here they come pretty affordable.by Michiel 318iS - Car Talk
Well... At Ford we now have a 1.0 3-cylinder having the same performance of a 1.8 of a couple of years ago. Even better, due to the turbocharger we have diesel like performance at the bottom end. And being a 3-pot, it sounds like half a Porsche at the higher rpm. Still can't beat an inline 6 though.by Michiel 318iS - Community Forum

Google m20b23 head on m20b27 or similar, there's plenty of that stuff out there.by Michiel 318iS - Technical Forum
Sound familiar. First time I noticed mine was going was on a high speed run, windshield was fogging up. Later I heard water somewhere under the dash and felt it splashing around when taking hard corners. Being lazy I waited a whole year before tackling the problem, driving the entire winter without any heating. Was cheap in the end, as nobody wanted to ride with me, they all took me in theirby Michiel 318iS - Technical Forum
Holy sh*t, you've been really lucky! These kids have no idea what they're doing, hope they're being stopped before something serious happens... Good it was on the quarter panel and not the A-pillar...by Michiel 318iS - Car Talk
That's what I learned to do, we call it 'spooning' it out. It's actually massaging the metal plate at one side of the dent to get it back to flat. Take some time to learn but is real fun if you can do it. I'd need to pick that up again, it's a shame the toolset is so expensive.by Michiel 318iS - Car Talk
Makes me want to get mine back on the road. Will take another couple of years I guess...by Michiel 318iS - Car Talk
Just out of curiousity, how did he remove the dents? I took a course in paintless dent removal a couple of years ago, but there's a couple of techniques.by Michiel 318iS - Car Talk
Not sure if it was on the same fuse, I was once having issues on a previous E30 with a fuse blowing, dash lights went out, turned out to be the rear ash tray light wires being damaged somewhere under the center console.by Michiel 318iS - Technical Forum
OK, I got you wrong there. So the top had been replaced. Shame then! You're right, better have a patched up top than an bad new one.by Michiel 318iS - Car Talk
Well if I had to restore a cabriolet, I'd tackle the top as one of the last parts as it starts to age as soon as it is on there. Maybe this owner was keeping this as one of the last steps as well?by Michiel 318iS - Car Talk
My good old E46 320d is at a stable average of 5.86 l/100 km now (over almost 100.000 km), driven in a spirited way. 6.0 l/100 km for a 116i is a very good figure! I wonder if he's running 'eco' tyres (would be rather un-Ove)by Michiel 318iS - Community Forum
