Personally I like this board because it does not have 10,000 members... wodcutr: I can't say that I feel any more clumsy in my car then I did in my E30, I think part of the reason I'm so impressed with the one I have now is because before I just had a 88 325, not an i, so now, I drive a car that sits lower to the ground, and has 65 more hp. but alas I still here the road lol, I woulby Andrew - Technical Forum
Haha well, I'm glad we got some clarification on things... I'm surprised by the "hate" for an e36 lol, have you ever driven an E36 wodcutr? You might like it. Personally I think my E36 325iS performs better in every way compared to my 88 325, I guess thats not a fair comparison though since my 325 wasn't an iS, and the shocks couldn't have been worse lol. I've decided that I am going to try to sell my current car, I honestly don't think its worth it to invest anymore of my money into it. The real only reason is RUST. Since it came from Ontario this is to be expected I suppose, right now the rust is worse directly under where the drivers feet rest, on the undercarriage of the car. The passenger side was bad too but it has obviously been fby Andrew - Technical Forum
Thanks, as soon as I get my car back, (It needed an alignment and apparently it needs a new bushing for the rear right wheel, and they won't get the part until Tuesday) I'll see if I can't take off the boot and check it out for myself.by Andrew - Technical Forum
Ok, thanks Peter, I'm sure I could find out what it recommends in my owner's manual.by Andrew - Technical Forum
I'm thinking 10w40? what do ya'll think about that? The thing is, is I have a nice big jug of mobil 1 full synthetic 15w50, maybe I could use that in the summer? I do use a block heater religiously here, but what happens if I park somewhere I can't plug the car in right?by Andrew - Technical Forum
Cool, thanks for the info, but ya that's exactly what I was thinking, does it need 12v or need to be grounded? I'll try to find out. The unfortunate thing about all of this is I'll have a hole in my dash, at least its in a discrete spot.by Andrew - Technical Forum
So I just had a remote started installed in my 95 325iS, the mechanic said he would never install another remote starter in a BMW ever again lol!!! Anyways, everything is fine except for this. The mechanic told me that he couldn't located the e-brake wire, which I think is silly, I mean its got to be there somewhere right? Usually this would be connected to the remote starter so that it willby Andrew - Technical Forum
Oh right, I guess if I had a M3 it would be a different engine, I have a 95 325iS, so whatever engine that is, M50? I also have 189,000 km, but no leaks.by Andrew - Technical Forum
On a more useful note, my car was driving really whacky in slippery conditions, can't really notice it when its dry, but when its slippery the car felt like it wanted to dog leg, i found out just recently the one of my rear wheels was significantly toed in more than the other, i'm still waiting on it to get an alignment, i'll let you know how big of a difference it made, hopefullyby Andrew - Technical Forum
I noticed with my 325iS, its easier to start but once you're going its actually not as safe as having an open diff, because when i had my 325, if i gave it too much gas only one wheel would spin and the tail wouldn't go anywhere, but now i have to be more careful, but then again i don't have to worry about that when i have ASC onby Andrew - Technical Forum
So i have an E36, what grade of oil do you recommend? I used 15w50 in my E30.by Andrew - Technical Forum
Merry belated Christmas and an early happy new years!!! Phew, I'm glad I found this board again I was getting scared. Anyways if you guys don't remember my last post I was in the midst of buying an 95 325iS, and well I did, I have yet to take any of my own pics of the car so here are the ones that were posted when it was being sold... I love the car, especially the motor,by Andrew - Technical Forum
