Like Bob, I am using Prestone, no issues. Used to use Peak and one day it became really hard to fine where I live, Prestone for the last 7 years.by Doug S - Technical Forum
Every time I get the gas smell on my 87 325, it is always from a rubber fuel line, and usually under the hood. California puts something in the gas which while environmentally friendly, seems to eat the fuel lines prematurely, at least IMHO. Take a very good look around the clamps on the rubber fuel lines, give them a little wiggle while the engine is idling and if you see any gas at all, justby Doug S - Technical Forum
Philosophically, I line up with Bob. My 87 325 just passed emissions here in CA with 231K miles, original cat, 02 sensor about 60,000 miles. My CO and HC aren't that much different than yours and my NO is around 500. Depending on your goal here, you have two years before you need to test again. If the car is working good, drive it and enjoy it. Before the next test, run a can of Sea Foaby Doug S - Technical Forum
Yes they are brittle. I am a little afraid of a used blower because the blades on one of my fans are just like matchsticks. It would be nice if you could just replace the plastic pieces.....but that doesn't appear to be case. I'll do some more research tomorrow. Doug Sby Doug S - Technical Forum
So I'm driving home in a downpour with my defroster going full blast when all of a sudden, an incredible, loud, annoying noise comes from my fan blower. I went from 4 to 2 just to make the noise sort of tolerable, but 3 or 4 sound like a buzz saw. I took it apart today and one of the plastic fans on the blower motor has started to disintegrate, and its little fan blades are smacking the hoby Doug S - Technical Forum
OK, its done and it wasn't that bad at all. I had the trusty Bentley manual out and pretty much followed it - roll the front roll up window down, remove the door panel and inner trim strip, remove the outer trim strip, remove the two bolts that hold up the metal piece that separates the roll up window and the fixed window on the rear door. At that point I deviated, you don't need to dby Doug S - Technical Forum
Thanks Alan I found several used windows on line yesterday, they all were $25-30 plus shipping so I just went ahead and ordered one from the one place on the west coast that was still open at 5:30 PM. My local BMW independent shop encouraged me to give it a shot, and told me if I couldn't figure it out they could install it pretty quick. I'm standing by for my window, my 325 is covby Doug S - Technical Forum
My 87 BMW would miss intermittantly between Las Vegas and Orange County particularly on hills. Ended up being ignition-new plug wires, rotor and cap made the problem go away. No issues on three trips since then including one really hot one. Doug Sby Doug S - Technical Forum
It's been a while since I last posted but I need y'alls help on today's E30 crisis. My 87 325 4 door got broken into at work, and the perps entered it by breaking out the rearmost window on the driver side rear door....the little window at the very back which doesn't go up or down. The Bentley manual sort of describes how to take it out, but I was wondering if anybody out thby Doug S - Technical Forum
