after posting a message, what does everyone prefer?

i noticed that upon posting a message, the site redirects you back to the page preceding the post, rather than letting you view your post. is this a personal setting for each user or is it a setting for the forum in general?

I'm ambivalent about this because when I haven't made an error in typing, it bugs me but when I have, I'm glad of the immediate notification and an opportunity to fix my screw ups before too many people get to read them

I agree. I've fixed this so after you post you are taken to your post instead of the message list.
