I'm just happy someone is still noticing these classics. Thanks for sharing; our enthusiast group is shrinking as our E30s drive off into the sunset I've just had a complete service on the iX and it needs some new boots on the front drive axles. Even though I can't afford such simple maintenance, I'm having it done since this car may have to last me forever. Fortunately, my new mechanic is almost a dream come true; he knows the model and doesn't charge dealership rates. Since I'm not 'encouraged' to do my own repairs at home any more; this guy is a godsend! If I can rationalize things a little further, I may investigate a little body work(parking lot dings) and a paint job...I work in the midst of three very good body shops. These places do everything from ground up restorations of vintage muscle cars to perfect repairs on collision damage. I might even be able to get a good rate since I can leave the car with them all day, every day Of course money will be the big factor and no matter how good it looks; the iX will never be an M3 :crying: |

This seems like a good time to link to the E30 picnic picture thread at R3V.
Go ahead and oogle at every make and model under the US spec sun...even a few that aren't. The E30 touring is easy to spot, but can you find the 323i? The total number of E30's this year was 202. [www.r3vlimited.com] Cheers! ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1989 - E30 - M20 - Manual. Approximately 270,000 miles 2000 - E46 - M52TUB28 - Manual. Approximately 110,000 miles |

Yeah, even in here on the other side of the world, I've noticed a much greater demand for E30s. To the point now that an E30 gets a higher price than an equivalent E36. Ok, so the remaining E30s are in better condition (cos most of the ratty ones are now dead whereas the ratty E36s are still limping around on their last legs), but still it seems that the E30 image is starting to change from "strange boxy German 80s thing" to having some sort of collectible status. |
