Throttle body gasket - failed after 10 years

Posted by Kelly
Hi All,

Hope you're well! It's been a while. :-)

Recently my cork throttle body gasket failed after ten years. Usually I have the timing belt replaced every 4 years. I'm wondering if I should have the gasket replaced on an 8 year cycle because it would be easy to add to the To Do list during the timing belt change.

Thoughts?

Cheers, Kelly
Kelly,
I would not change it. The new gasket is not likely made of cork but sterner stuff they make these days. I have not changed mine even though I did remove it. I just used it over.
