SI Board

Hi guys, my 84 325E still has it's original batteries in the SI board, but I think they are begginng to go south. You would think BMW could come up with a battery that lasts longer than 28 years, but I digress......

Question, in all this excitement, I have forgotten, are the SI leds supposed to be on all the time when the car is running or just at crank?

They only come on when starting the car.
Not sure what the status of my batteries is. The indicator always appear to have just been reset. I have no issues with indications and am happy I do not have to mess with it.
