I had a bug, loved that car!!! But could very see me trying that and ending up in the emergency room with a screwdriver sticking out of the side of my head!!!!!

Yep, had a couple myself and maintenance was almost that simple

I always did the belt change thing with the engine 'off' though...new belts tend to need adjusting

That was cheating. He put the same belt back on. Probable was not very tight after being stretched a couple of dozen times while he practiced for the movie.

If one had a worn belt and wanted to replace with a new one. The new belt would be seriously over tight and would overload the generator bearings.
