Got an unpleasant shock when I started up the 67 Camaro on Saturday and tried to back it out of the garage. As I started backing down the slope of the driveway and stepped on the brake pedal,...it went to the floor. Fortunately the rear brakes, as wimpy as they are. got it stopped so I could put the trans in park. That 45 year old brake proportioner valve has been leaking and apparently had let all the fluid out of the front system. Took two evenings of work to get the rusty old valve loose from the rusty brake line fittings. The new valve seems to work ok so far.
I think I will take the old one apart and see if I can identify why it seemed to leak only after setting for a few weeks and would not leak if driven regularly.
The plan is to drive the car the 50 miles to Issaquah to be in the Father's Day car show. Should be about 600 cars there. Hope it does not rain.
