Not an E30 this time, but a NSU Ro80. For those not familiar, it's a mid 60's to mid 70's sedan, Wankel engined, well ahead of its time. The seller has two and is selling his whole collection at once. Price has dropped a couple of times, one car came with pictures and looks pretty clean on them. One sells for €3500, the other for 4000. Maybe it can drop a bit more.
Interesting to know: the design was done by Claus Luthe... |

Don't know how is VW/Audi support for older cars, BMW and Mercedes are very good at that. OTOH, VW/Audi parts are outrageosly expensive even for new or recent cars... :/ Salvaging parts from a very rare car is often not an option. One can always have new parts built, if the original part and/or drawings and specifications are available. The Wankel engines were dropped as soon as the first oil crisis stroke, and the fuel efficiency is very poor. Still a great project! For that price, the cars must be very clean and complete. Good luck on the project! [www.ro80.nl] |
